http://pyramidphysio.ca/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/dryneedling-elbow-pain_dvd.mp4

Patient came to clinic with chronic elbow pain which giving him pain in his forearm and was diagnosed with tennis elbow. In my examination it was positive Cozen’s test, but tenderness was on Brachioradialis muscles instead wrist extensor origin. With further examination it was clear patient was not suffering with tennis elbow, but it was local hypertonicity and trigger point. After three dry needling treatment sessions, patient was 100% pain free and was discharged from the plan of care.

What is Dry needling:

According to Mayo clinic:

While the name of the procedure may sound intimidating, dry needling is safe, minimally discomforting and often an effective technique for patients with certain musculoskeletal presentations. Dry needling is a treatment performed by skilled, trained physical therapists, certified in the procedure. A thin monofilament needle penetrates the skin and treats underlying muscular trigger points for the management of neuromusculoskeletal pain and movement impairments.
